Consequent to the decision taken in a meeting held on May 21, 2021, training for Covid duties has commenced at Hqrs 2nd Bn. SDRF, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu for 100 SDRF personnel. The faculty from GMC Bakshi Nagar consisted of Dr. Rakesh Bahl, Associate Professor Community Medicine GMC Jammu, Dr. Sandeep Dogra , Associated professor Community Microbiological, GMC Jammu and Mrs. Kanta Sr. Staff Nurse GMCH Jammu will impart the training . 
Sh. V. K. Singh, IPS, DGP, Commandant General, HG/CD & SDRF J&K inaugurated 02 days Training Programme on COVID-19 patient Care Support for SDRF personnel at Bn. Hqrs. 2nd. Bn. Jammu. 

During the Inaugural function DGP stressed upon the trainees to take keen interest for the specialized training to be imparted by the experts of Medical faculty. The aim of the Training is to assist the medical staff in treatment of Covid-19 patients. During 02 days training, both Theoretical as well as Hands on Training to SDRF personnel will be provided. Training aspects will include all the components of Covid-19 care i.e , Care of Covid +ve patients in Covid Wards, Covid-19 Rapid Antigen Testing, Practical issues of Oxygen Plants, Mortuary Management etc. 
During the training, Dr. Rakesh Bahl, Associate Professor GMC Jammu gave lecture on 'Basic Introduction of COVID-19 and Objectives of the training, Dr.Sandeep Dogra , Associate Professor GMC Jammu gave lecture on 'Components of COVID-19 Patient care and COVID-19 RAT infection Control & Personal protection while Mrs. Kanta, Sr. Staff Nurse GMCH Jammu acquainted the SDRF personnel with 'Donning and Doffing of PPE and 'Nursing care of COVID Positive Patients in COVID wards'. It is hoped that this training will equip the SDRF personnel with all the important components of taking care of Covid-19 patients and augment the staff working in care of Covid-19 patients.
